EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, ETCHE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL

HON. (BARR). REGINALD IHEANYICHUKWU UKWUOMA EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, ETCHE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL The Executive Chairman Etche Local Government PREAMBLE Indeed, it is a Herculean task to chronicle the totality of a jurist with a high pedigree, favour in life and respect for God and humanity. However, it is also pertinent to furnish this esteemed class of eminent personalities with relevant information concerning Hon. (Barr). Reginald Ukwuoma. Hon. (Barr). Reginald Ukwuoma in every estimation and human standard has brought into reality the aphorism of a great thinker who say, “Leadership is either made or born”. This in totality is also a reflective of the fact that failure is never celebrated but wished away. . Judging from his track records earned by dint of hard work, Hon. (Barr.) Reginald Ukwuoma, a humane scholar was born a leader, blessed by God and man as his master at Mbaise Barr. M. N. Okwute Okeahialam whom he served for seven (7) years without being contumacious (showing lack of respect) said while discharge him, “your service has pleased me and I am sending you back to Etche as an Iroko”. PLACE OF BIRTH Hon. (Barr.) Reginald Ukwuoma was born in April 14th 1973 into the family of Chief and Mrs. Theopilus Ukwuoma Egbuchu of Umuohie-Igbodo in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State. EDUCATION Like the early morning sun which indicates the brightness of the day, so his value and success in the field of education projected him as man of honour. Hon. (Barr.) Reginald Ukwuoma, attended State School I, Igbodo where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in flying colours. Other academic laurels won by him includes:- (a) Senior School Certificate, Mbaise Secondary School, Aboh-Mbaise- Imo State - (1991) (b) Diploma in Law, Rivers State College of Art and Science - (1993) POSITION HELD (a) General monitor - State School Igbodo (b) Class Prefect - CSS Umuozoche (c) Junior Prefect - JSS Amaumara Mbaise (d) Senior Prefect - S.S., Amaumara Mbaise (e) Secretary, Civil Liberty Organisation,- College of Art and Science, Rivers State (f) Secretary, Etche Students Association- College of Art and Science, Rivers State (g) Auditor - National Union of Rivers State. (h) Assistant Secretary - National Union of Etche Students (i) President - National Union of Rivers State Student, University of Benin (j) Head of Chambers - Sapara Williams and Co. Faculty of Law, Uniben Jurial Court (k) Senior Advocate - University of Benin, Faculty of Law Jurial Court. (i) President - Niger Delta Law School Students, Nigeria Law School, Abuja (in this regard, Barr. Ukwuoma Controlled the law students from the Niger Delta region in four campuses of the Nigerian Law School). In spite of the high demands of these positions, Barr. Ukwuoma still excelled in his academic endeavours. (r) Founder/CEO - Kingdom Visions Initiative Int’l (KVI) DEGREE AWARDED Bachelor at Law (LLB), University of Benin (1996-200) with his inherent desire to being at the apex in legal studies he relentlessly proceeded to Law School at Abuja for a one year mandatory professional course to qualify as a Barrister at Law. It will be recalled that this learning enhanced him to service for six years at the M.N. OKWUTE OKEAHIALAM and Associates, Port Harcourt as the people’s counsel and Managing Solicitor respectively. Having gained a sufficient knowledge and experience in law practice, Hon. (Barr.) Reginald Ukwuoma in 2008 established his own legal outfit known as Ukwuoma and Ukwuoma Legal Union and Partners, Ofor Na Ogu Chambers, Port Harcourt. It is in this chamber where his amiable and loving wife, Mrs. Marian Ukwuoma, also a Barrister worked as a Managing Solicitor. POLITICAL LIFE Hon. (Barr). Reginald Ukwuoma’s legal practice short lived due to an impulse to serve his people in a wilder perspective. Engulfed by this instinct, Hon. (Barr.) Ukwuoma fully engaged in active polities. Unlike some people who try several times and fail, Barr. Ukwuoma’s first contest in 2008 yielded a good result as he won as a councillor for Igbodo ward 14. In this regard, the qualities in him quickly manifested such that he became the political consummate of the Legislative Arm of Etche Council. His ingenuity, acumen, innovation and proactive action were put to bear in the legislative process, paving way to his recognitions and in-house elections as a Chief Whip and later leader respectively. During his reign as a leader, Hon. (Barr.) Ukwuoma intelligently and humbly conducted the affairs of the legislative Arm of Etche Local Government Council in a manner that ushered in diverse peace and harmonious relationships, paving way to his being nicknamed, “The Popular Choice”. While as a councillor, he sponsored the first byelaw in the house that gave birth to the opening of birth and marriage (court wedding) registration centre at Okehi. He also sponsored a bill passed by the house which criminalized the issuance of Local Government Certificate of origin to non indigenes. With an enthusiasm for an opportunity to serve at a high level, Barr. Ukwuoma, in April 2011, joined the Etche Local Government Chairmanship race, a move which those whose visions were blurred described as fighting a lost battle. But with God on his side and through the unflinching support of the major stakeholders and fellow contestants, Barr. Ukwuoma jumped the huddle, emerging victoriously. This, however, became necessary through the platform provided by Hon. Ephraim Nwuzi, the immediate past chairman of Etche Local Government Council who served as his anchor man. Hon. Nwuzi helped to high rocket the curriculum vitae of ONYE-NMENME. CHRISTIAN LIFE Outside the circular world, Hon (Barr.) Reginald Ukwuoma is also an ardent believer in God who professes Christ as his Lord and personal saviour. To be precise, he is a member of the Assemblies of God Church, an usher and founder of Kingdom Visions Initiative Int’l, (KVI) alias Promise keepers. PHILOSOPHY: Hon. (Barr.) Reginald Ukwuoma coined his philosophy from legal sage which says, “If what I pursue suits the will divine by hell or earth will stood, certainly it shall be mine. Also he operates with a passion and vision to see to what extent his life and dealings will lead to the greatest happiness of the greatest number based on the theory of hedonistic calculus. R/S. (7) (KSQ) Knight of Service & Quality - Quality Leadership Quest National Headquarters Asaba, Delta State. This is Hon. (Barr.) Reginald Iheanyichukwu Ukwuoma, the Executive Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, I know in print and his administration I foresee shall also be the yardstick upon which the ideal Local Government Council shall be measured both in infrastructural development, capacity building and in human relations. MARITAL STATUS Hon. (Barr.) Reginald Ukwuoma is happily married to Barr. (Mrs.) Marian Ukwuoma and their union are blessed with two children, Gerald and Christine HOBBIES: Football, Reading & Research.
